Millridge Parent Teacher Group Welcome Letter

2021-2022

Welcome back Mustangs!

On behalf of the Millridge PTG, we would like to welcome back all new and returning families for the 2021-2022 school year! For those of you who are not familiar, PTG is a group of parents, teachers, and support staff who are dedicated to our children’s education. We look forward to meeting those who would like to get involved with PTG this year.

Our goal:

PTG stands for Parent Teacher Group, consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We are about men and women working toward a common goal. That goal, simply stated, is creating a better school and better educational experience for our children.  We strive to create an atmosphere where teachers, administrators, and support staff can do their best work and so can our children. We cannot do this without the support of our families and community. Thank you for support and helping PTG provide the best opportunities to our students.

Why join PTG?

Millridge PTG is a valuable organization in which all students benefit! Joining PTG is a great way to meet families, school staff, share ideas and be active in developing educational and enrichment opportunities for our school and students. We encourage all families to get involved and help grow and support our children.

With the support of our families, the PTG has been able to provide our school and students with valuable resources, programs, and fun!  In the past, we have been able to purchase items for our Maker Zone Space such as a 3-D printer and Dash coding robots. We were also able to provide finical support for Millridge Reads, art docent, classroom parties, and one of our favorites, winter workshop!  PTG also organizes events like family movie night, book fairs, great readers and spirit wear sales.

These are just a small list of everything PTG offers throughout the school year.

Commitment level:

We encourage everyone to be an active member of the PTG, but the level of involvement is up to you! There are no mandatory meetings or volunteer hour requirements, but attending our once-a-month meeting are great way to stay current on what is happening at Millridge.  There are many ways to volunteer and get involved through our PTG. You can choose how often you would like to volunteer. For example, some of our programs have a need for work at home, some only require a few hours a month, while special events could involve a higher commitment.  Join us September 8th via zoom at 7:00 PM to learn all about PTG and the ways you can get involved.

The more help we have, the better our events and programs will be for our students. It takes a team to get these programs up and running. When we all work together, it enriches our students’ opportunities.

Classroom Party Volunteers

Dear Millridge Parents,

It is time to organize volunteers for our classroom parties!  Millridge PTG hosts a Fall, Winter, and Valentines party for each classroom (Please see below for dates). Each classroom will have a Captain and Co-Captain along with other volunteers to assist throughout the year. The Captain and Co- Captain will be responsible for contacting the parent volunteers and coordinating with their classroom teacher. These volunteers will assist with organizing party activities (i.e., crafts, games, etc.), distributing drinks and snacks to the students, and supply paper products such as, plates and napkins for the day of the party. Each room will allow for 4 adult volunteers (NO siblings). The snacks and drinks will be provided by the Millridge PTG. All parent volunteers will be allowed to enter the building at 1:15 P.M and parties will begin at 1:30 P.M.

Millridge School will only allow parents to send in non-food treats that will go home with the student as prizes. Please DO NOT SEND in any food items should you choose to send in any treat bags for the classroom.

Millridge PTG will be following the district guidelines on gathering due to COVID-19. If we are unable to have in person volunteers then PTG will have an alternative plan that will adhere to the guidelines.

To sign up for volunteering, please fill out the google form on our website at www.millridgeptg.org by September 24th, 2021. Please fill out one form per child.

If you have any questions, please join us at our first PTG meeting scheduled for September 8th at 7:00 PM via zoom or contact Anna Ketchum at amcd76@yahoo.com or Karen Pastore at karenpastore@millridgeptg.org

Party Dates: October 29th, December 20th, February 14th

Thank you,

Millridge PTG Board
